Great Wolf Lodge in LaGrange, GA

I’m not a regular mom, I’m a cool mom. That’s why for our anniversary we took a family trip to Great Wolf Lodge in LaGrange, GA. Great Wolf Lodge is a huge indoor waterpark resort. I know, I know…it’s not everyone’s idea of a romantic anniversary getaway, but when you have 4 kids, keeping the children entertained on trips is important. With all the waterslides, the lazy river, and the multiple pool zones to choose from, our kids were so busy running around we were able to enjoy our adult beverages in peace for once. So win, win!

Maybe you don’t want to spend your anniversary around a bunch of kids, but I still cannot recommend this place enough for your next big family trip. We went to the LaGrange location but there are several Wolf Lodge locations throughout the U.S., and they are all very different.

We are a family of 6 so we chose to stay in one of their themed rooms so that everyone could have a bed. Our room included a king-sized bed (which of course our youngest snuck her way into), a pullout couch that our oldest made his own, and (our middle two boy’s favorite) a kid’s nook called “Wiley’s Den” which included a themed room with a bunk bed and its own separate TV. It is such a fun room for kids. They had a blast, and we were thankful to not have to share a tv with the little ones so we weren’t stuck watching Paw Patrol reruns all weekend.

The kids were pretty worn out after a FULL day at the water park. The hotel allows you to come in as early as the waterpark open on the day of your check in, so we took advantage. After baths we ordered them a pizza, put on a movie and had the older two babysit so that we could enjoy one of the nicer restaurants the hotel offers (hey, it was our anniversary after all). The hotel has so many dining options you truly never have to leave the resort. There are tons of quick order options inside the waterpark itself that are themed, but there are also a few sit-down options. There are also a few bars located around the resort and everything can be paid by using either your wrist band or you can order ahead on the app.

The next morning, we did make it up to the kids for abandoning them by taking them to “The Yards” where you can rent Top Golf family game suites. We had a ton of fun, as there are several games to choose from and you can order lunch and drinks while you play. You can book this through the app or in person. It’s super convenient having so many activities in the resort.

After some virtual gameplay we headed back to the waterpark and spent most of the day there. We left a little early to wash up before dinner because we wanted to take advantage of some of the nightly activities they had going on that evening. The app is incredibly helpful in keeping track of all of the free activities offered at the resort and you can create reservations for their restaurants, as well. After dinner we grabbed our complimentary wolf ears from the gift shop and headed to story time in the lobby. Our 3rd son was chosen to participate, and he loved getting to be a part of the show.

After story time we headed to the arcade and mini golf area and enjoyed the night playing games, winning prizes and participating in some family competitions. Every night at the Wolf Lodge ends with a dance party in the lobby and we’re not ones to turn down a shindig. As tired as the kids were, they grabbed their glowsticks and danced the night away! The perfect way to really make sure those kids sleep through the night end a family fun night!

Honestly, if I haven’t convinced you that you need to plan a trip to the Wolf Lodge by now, I don’t know what else to say. It’s just a great place to spend time as a family. The kids always have a blast, and they count down the days for our next trip. We’re thinking of returning for the holidays next time, as we’ve heard they do a great job decorating and we can’t wait to see it. That’s the great thing about an indoor waterpark, its open year-round! The staff and everyone are always great and even though we have been a few times now, there are still so many things we haven’t done yet. We will definitely be planning a trip back soon!
